The Swimmer

The Swimmer is one of the best short stories I have ever read. Here is a trailer for a movie made in 1968 based on the story. The movie has a haunting feel, much like the story. When you talk about The Swimmer, will you talk about yourself?

Purpose of The Blog

The purposes of this Blog are:

1) To help me become a better writer.

The Blog gives me a chance to post my writings on a public forum. Instead of only writing in my journal, my friends and family will now have the opportunity to critique my writing. I am in the infancy of my writing career and need all the critique I can get.

2) To help me master the internet.

As I stated in About Me, I don't like the internet. However, as an aspiring journalist, the internet is the most important resource I have. I must learn and master the internet.

3) To keep friends and family updated on my life.

I am constantly on the move. I have no idea where the next couple of years will lead me. The Blog gives my friends and family an opportunity to 'check in on my life' and to keep in touch whenever they see fit.

4) To indulge myself.

5) To give potential employers a feel for my personality and to sample my writing, however crappy it may be.
